About the position

The Key Carrier Clerk at The Save Mart Companies plays a crucial role in managing front-end operations and ensuring exceptional customer service in the absence of the Assistant Center Store Manager. This position involves supervising and training front-end associates, maintaining store standards, and performing bookkeeping functions to enhance the shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct the front-end staff and operations in the absence of the Assistant Center Store Manager.
• Ensure optimal front-end customer service, performance, productivity, and compliance.
• Supervise and train Front-End associates to promote a culture reflective of The Save Mart Companies mission statement.
• Manage front-end performance and productivity, including cash handling and compliance checks.
• Ensure front-end and parking lot conditions are met, including cleanliness and merchandising.
• Perform store balancing functions to enhance the shopping experience.
• Monitor customer experience on the front-end and occasionally maintain total store operations in the absence of store management.

Requirements

• Minimum age requirement: 18 years
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities
• Good training skills
• Strong skills in supervision and coordination
• Good counting and math skills
• Ability to read and write to accurately complete all documentation
• Knowledge of Front-end operations and check stand procedures
• Knowledge of compliance and basic applicable contract/work rules
• One year of college or vocational school (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience)
• One year of prior work experience that includes a minimum of 6 months Grocery/Retail experience
