About the position

The Key Carrier role at HomeGoods is an elevated position that extends the responsibilities of a Coordinator. Key Carriers primarily perform Coordinator duties while also taking on leadership roles to maintain store operations. This position requires open availability, including nights and weekends, and emphasizes exceptional customer service and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Alternate between Coordinator and Key Carrier roles based on store needs.
  • Model exceptional customer service and create a positive customer experience.
  • Promote a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Act as Manager on Duty, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure store team performs tasks according to store plans and priorities.
  • Address immediate customer service issues and coach Associates appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas for optimal customer experience.
  • Ensure Associates follow all operational procedures and guidelines.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures according to company standards.
  • Communicate effectively with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
  • Provide recognition and constructive feedback to Associates.
  • Partner with Management to identify Associate training needs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs and participate in shrink reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe environment and promote safety awareness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Team player with effective collaboration skills.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures.
  • Understanding of merchandise flow in stores.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach, delegate, and follow up on multiple tasks.
  • Capable of acting quickly under challenging circumstances.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.
