About the position
The Key Carrier role at Sierra Trading Post is a leadership position that supports the store's operations by alternating between the Coordinator role and Key Carrier responsibilities. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of customer service, ensuring compliance with company policies, and fostering a positive work environment. Key Carriers are expected to have open availability, including nights and weekends, and play a crucial role in training and coaching associates while promoting a culture of integrity and safety.
Responsibilities
- Act as Manager on Duty, adhering to company policy and procedure.
- Ensure store team performs tasks in accordance with the store plan and prioritizes as needed.
- Address immediate customer service issues and provide coaching to Associates.
- Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience.
- Ensure Associates adhere to all operational procedures.
- Execute opening/closing procedures according to company guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback to Associates.
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs and support shrink reduction goals.
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Requirements
- 1 year of retail experience
- 6 months of leadership experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively coach, delegate, and follow-up on multiple tasks
- Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
- Knowledge of merchandise flow in stores
