The Keyboarding Clerk 1 position at the Sheriff's Office involves performing routine clerical work under close supervision, primarily focused on processing legal documents. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine clerical work involving the processing of legal documents.
  • Format and key enter/type correspondence, documents, reports, charts, and other materials.
  • Operate various office and mail processing machines such as typewriters, calculators, and fax machines.
  • Perform simple maintenance tasks on office equipment.
  • Comprehend established office routines and department regulations.
  • Organize assigned clerical work and develop effective work methods.
  • Perform routine arithmetic calculations and maintain accounts.
  • Prepare records of cash receipts and disbursements, invoices, and assist with periodic reports.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs and climb stairs as needed.
  • Travel between different county buildings.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding or typing.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to answer multiple phone lines and assist incoming guests.
  • Ability to operate an alphanumeric keyboard or typewriter with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately within prescribed time frames.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written directions.
