About the position

The Design Engineering Manager at Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is responsible for overseeing multiple engineering projects and developing strong relationships with clients within the Department of Energy (DOE). This role requires a deep understanding of the technical capabilities of the team and the needs of major clients to effectively manage engineering services and operational execution. The successful candidate will engage with both new and existing clients to solidify relationships and build a stable backlog of projects, while also contributing to the development of short-term and long-term market strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and growth of engineering nuclear services with oversight of the engineering team.
  • Provide direction and leadership to manage a team of engineers and subconsultants, ensuring they are prepared to execute and deliver.
  • Identify DOE market potential, target opportunities, key partners and clients, bidding strategy, market risks, and targeted annual bid and award revenue.
  • Ensure constant client engagement with key client decision-makers, teaming partners, and affiliate organizations.
  • Analyze market data to identify trends and opportunities, providing input for strategic direction and possible expansion of design engineering services.
  • Coordinate with proposal managers and marketing managers to produce necessary deliverables for capture goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field.
  • 20+ years of progressively complex experience in managing multidiscipline projects, engineering, and business development activities relevant to the nuclear market.
  • Successful record of developing new business related to significant construction work on nuclear facilities.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of design engineering processes in nuclear facilities.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
