About the position

The Kilby Labs AI Group is seeking a Neural Network Software Intern to contribute to the research and development of neural network applications. This role focuses on software tool development for neural network optimization, design, and training, as well as graph compiler and node library design to facilitate the mapping of high-level networks to low-level C code. The intern will work within a dynamic team dedicated to advancing semiconductor technologies and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and training of ultra high accuracy and ultra low complexity neural networks.
• Develop software tools for neural network optimization, sparsification, and quantization.
• Contribute to the design of graph compilers and node libraries for mapping high-level networks to low-level C code.
• Support hardware development for high performance and low power execution of neural networks.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 / 4.0 or higher.
• Excellent programming skills in Python and C / C++.
• Strong knowledge in linear algebra, probability, information theory, calculus, and signal processing.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with state-of-the-art neural network design and training for various applications (vision, speech, language, time series).
• Experience with the PyTorch deep learning library and ONNX intermediate representation.
• Knowledge of PyTorch ExecuTorch and TVM graph compilers, as well as GCC and LLVM C / C++ compilers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
