The Elementary School Teacher at Philip's Academy will serve as the instructional leader in their classroom under the supervision of the Principal. This role involves creating, managing, and participating in a variety of learning environments and activities that enhance student development and mastery of learning objectives. Teachers at Philip's Academy are expected to engage in extensive professional development, collaborate with fellow faculty and staff, and promote rigorous learning opportunities while considering the collective and individual interests of students and the broader school community. In this position, the teacher will lead direct instruction for whole groups, small groups, and individual students. They will work cooperatively with grade-level partners and additional staff to implement a strong, engaging, integrated, and appropriate curriculum. Effective communication and collaboration with families are essential to ensure consistency between home and school, promoting student success. The teacher will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning, maintaining ongoing professional development, and supporting students during other times of the day, including teaching co-curricular activities and providing supervision during recess, lunch, and hallway transitions. Additional duties and responsibilities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice from the Principal, emphasizing the dynamic nature of the teaching role at Philip's Academy.
