About the position

The Evanston/Skokie School District 65 is seeking a dedicated and passionate Kindergarten Grade Educator for a long-term substitute position at Lincolnwood Elementary School. This role is essential in providing continuity of education for young learners during the academic year. The position is set to commence on August 19, 2024, and will last for approximately three months, concluding in November 2024. The educator will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive curriculum that meets the developmental needs of kindergarten students, fostering a nurturing and engaging classroom environment, and ensuring that each child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially. As a long-term substitute, the educator will be expected to implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and communicate effectively with parents and staff. The role requires a commitment to the educational philosophy of the district, which emphasizes the importance of every child receiving a quality education every day. The educator will work closely with other staff members to create a collaborative and supportive learning environment, adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs. This position is a 10-month role, requiring the educator to work six hours a day, Monday through Friday. The compensation for this position is $150 per day for the first 23 days of the assignment, with a higher rate applicable from Day 24 through the end of the assignment. It is important to note that this position does not come with additional benefits, as it is a substitute role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related area.
  • Illinois Professional Educator License or Substitute License.
  • Substitute Teaching Certification.
