About the position

Franklin Public Schools is seeking an energetic, creative, and innovative Kindergarten Long Term Substitute Teacher. The successful candidate must be a motivated individual with a passion for encouraging and inspiring students to love learning. This position requires the teacher to plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students as much as possible. The teacher will create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. The teacher will prepare for classes assigned and encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. They will guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with these goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, communicating these objectives to students. Collaboration with colleagues is essential to examine student data, plan curriculum, and ensure appropriate learning experiences for all students. Employing a variety of instructional techniques and media, the teacher will assess the accomplishments of students regularly and provide progress reports as required. They will take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities, while maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. The teacher will assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, developing reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintaining order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Additionally, the teacher will make provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. The teacher will strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
