Responsibilities

• Plan, carry out, and evaluate instructional activities for groups and individual students.
• Establish standards of student performance that can be quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated.
• Assist in the identification, assessment, and resolution of special student problems.
• Administer group tests and utilize results for identifying student needs.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding individual student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, achievement, and attendance.
• Use a variety of teaching techniques and methods to promote positive student achievement.
• Develop and implement lesson plans consistent with state frameworks and district policies.
• Participate in the development and implementation of school and district curriculum.
• Maintain a behavioral climate conducive to student learning and demonstrate mutual respect.
• Plan and coordinate the work of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Attend required meetings and model punctuality at all functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in the assigned grade and/or subject area(s).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills with students and parents.
