About the position

The Kindergarten Teacher at Renaissance Charter School is responsible for implementing a mathematics curriculum that aligns with federal, state, and school mandates to enhance student achievement. The role involves managing interventions for students, collaborating with teachers, and fostering partnerships with parents and the community to support student learning in mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of the content area and approved curriculum.
• Utilizes a variety of teaching methods and resources for each area taught.
• Communicates with and obtains feedback from students to enhance learning.
• Applies principles of student growth, development, and learning appropriately.
• Utilizes student assessment techniques and procedures.
• Manages the educational setting to promote positive student behavior and a safe environment.
• Recognizes student diversity and creates an atmosphere conducive to positive involvement.
• Works productively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
• Supervises paraprofessionals assigned to math intervention.
• Collaborates with individual teachers through co-planning, co-teaching, and coaching.
• Designs and implements appropriate intervention strategies for struggling students.
• Participates in ongoing professional development trainings to enhance job efficacy.
• Designs and implements Mathematics Nights to involve families and community members.
• Collects and reports student data and administers assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Master's Preferred) and eligibility for Florida teaching certification.
• Demonstrated evidence of involvement in school activities involving leadership responsibilities.
• Certification in Mathematics and ESOL Endorsement.
• Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
• Minimum of three years of K-12 classroom teaching with a positive impact on achievement.
• Prior experience as a coach or master teacher modeling lessons in the subject matter.
• Knowledge of core academic subjects assigned.
