About the position

As a Kindergarten Teacher at Charter Schools USA, you will play a vital role in inspiring and motivating young learners. Your primary responsibility will be to create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. You will develop lesson plans that align with the company's educational philosophy and objectives, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Develop purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that maximize teaching strategies and time on task.
  • Present subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunities and provide real-world application-based examples.
  • Review student records to understand each student's abilities and needs.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Strive to maximize the educational achievement of each student.
  • Utilize a variety of student learning modalities and differentiated instruction in lessons.
  • Conduct frequent diagnostic assessments of student learning.
  • Assess student strengths and weaknesses and provide appropriate activities to address their needs.
  • Coordinate class field trips as required.
  • Prepare students for state-required achievement assessments.
  • Stay current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory, sharing knowledge for curriculum improvement.
  • Assist in the ongoing curriculum revision process and selection of instructional materials.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
  • Maintain positive rapport with students and ensure a clean, safe classroom.
  • Implement relevant policies governing student conduct and develop reasonable classroom rules.
  • Communicate clearly and positively with parents and guardians, maintaining confidentiality regarding student records.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities to support a positive school culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience).
  • Command of grades/subject specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory.
  • Understanding of and commitment to company values.
  • Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
  • Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
  • Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and learning theories.
