About the position

The Kindergarten Teacher at St. Marcus Lutheran School is responsible for providing exemplary Christian education to young students while modeling Christ-like behavior. This full-time position involves planning and implementing instructional activities, supporting student development, and fostering relationships with families and the community. The teacher will work collaboratively with school leaders and participate in professional development to enhance their teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Model a Christ-like example in and out of the classroom.
• Demonstrate responsibility and professionalism towards job responsibilities.
• Build relationships with church and school families.
• Provide instructional and non-instructional support to students, families, teachers, and staff members.
• Plan and implement instruction following the St. Marcus curriculum.
• Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor student learning and provide feedback.
• Complete quarterly progress reports and report cards for each student.
• Mentor and support students and serve as the kindergarten staff member of contact for parents.
• Complete required parent/teacher conferences and home visits.
• Participate in outreach activities for the school.
• Build and nurture positive relationships with students and parents.
• Uphold code of conduct and school policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or higher.
• Childcare Teaching Certification.
• Experience working with students (1 year required).
• Ability to deliver instruction effectively.
• Commitment to respect the theology of the WELS.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a Christian educational environment.
• Familiarity with St. Marcus Lutheran School.
