About the position

The position involves creating and implementing a flexible program and classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and personal growth. The educator will develop lesson plans that align with established guidelines and ensure effective teaching strategies are employed to maximize student engagement and learning outcomes. Building effective rapport with students, staff, and parents is essential, as is motivating students to develop the necessary skills, attitudes, and knowledge to provide a solid educational foundation tailored to each student's abilities. The educator will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives as outlined in the adopted courses of study. This includes making purposeful lesson plans that maximize time on task and presenting subject matter in a way that enhances learning opportunities through real-world applications. Regular reviews of student records will be conducted to understand each student's abilities and needs, ensuring that accurate and complete records are maintained. In addition to instructional responsibilities, the educator will utilize a variety of learning modalities and differentiated instruction to cater to diverse student needs. Frequent diagnostic assessments will be employed to evaluate student learning, and appropriate activities will be provided to address identified needs. The educator will also coordinate class field trips, prepare students for state-required assessments, and assist in curriculum revision processes, including the selection of instructional materials. Creating a positive classroom environment is crucial, where the educator will maintain a clean and safe space that reflects student work and fosters a nurturing atmosphere. The educator will develop reasonable rules for classroom behavior and ensure that all relevant policies governing student conduct are implemented effectively. Communication with parents and guardians will be prioritized to establish cooperative relationships and maintain confidentiality regarding student records. Participation in extracurricular activities to support a positive school culture is also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare students for state-required achievement assessments.
  • Stay current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory.
  • Assist in the ongoing curriculum revision process.
  • Communicate clearly and positively with parents and guardians.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities to support students and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience).
  • Command of grades/subject specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory.
  • Understanding of and commitment to company values.
  • Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
  • Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
  • Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Familiarity with various teaching strategies and learning theories.
