East Ridge Elementary is a PreK-5 school located in Chattanooga, TN, and we are looking for positive, energetic leaders to join us at "the school where learners & leaders shine!" We are looking for teachers who possess exceptional skills in relationship building, communication in all forms with students, staff, and parents, classroom management, planning and providing relevant and meaningful instruction, student engagement, collaboration with teammates, coaches, and administration, problem solving, and creativity. As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing effective instruction that is tightly aligned with State standards. You will design lessons based on best practices with clear learning targets and measurable goals aligned with State standards and/or unit outcomes. Collaboration with colleagues is essential, as you will frequently plan lessons together. You will convey high expectations while using multiple effective strategies, materials, and classroom practices that involve and motivate students, differentiating instruction to meet their needs. Your role will also involve fostering a well-structured and engaging learning environment by utilizing effective classroom procedures and routines while showing caring, respect, and fairness for all students. In addition to classroom responsibilities, you will develop strong relationships with students' families, diligently informing parents of expectations, positive news, and/or concerns about their children. You will provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's learning. Actively seeking out opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to improve teaching and learning is also a key aspect of this role. You will reflect on your own instruction and leadership while contributing ideas, expertise, and time to the mission and goals of the school. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Hold a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in Elementary Education (K-5) or be an upcoming graduate in an accredited teacher preparation program.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in high-need or Title-I School settings is preferred.
  • Experience with English Language Learners is a plus.
