About the position

The Kindergarten Teacher at Berkeley Preparatory Academy is responsible for creating and implementing a flexible program and classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. This role involves developing lesson plans, establishing effective rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivating students to develop essential skills and knowledge. The teacher will adhere to the company's educational philosophy and objectives while striving to maximize the educational achievement of each student.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
• Develops purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that maximize time on task.
• Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunities and provides real-world application examples.
• Maintains accurate and complete student records.
• Utilizes a variety of student learning modalities and differentiated instruction in lessons.
• Conducts frequent diagnostic assessments of student learning.
• Assesses student strengths and weaknesses and provides appropriate activities to address needs.
• Coordinates class field trips as required.
• Prepares students for state-required achievement assessments.
• Participates in curriculum planning and revision processes.
• Communicates clearly and positively with parents and guardians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
• Possession of valid teaching certification.
• Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
• Command of grades/subject specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory.
• Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
