About the position

The Kindergarten Teacher at Grafton Public Schools is responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for young students. The role focuses on fostering self-advocacy and productive citizenship in accordance with DESE standards. The teacher will implement lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students, utilizing instructional strategies and technology to enhance learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Plan and implement lessons based on the curriculum that meet the needs and abilities of assigned students.
  • Utilize instructional strategies and practices that allow for differentiation of instruction.
  • Use instructional technology appropriately and facilitate its use among students.
  • Evaluate assessment data to determine and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Incorporate contemporary professional literature and evidence-based research into teaching practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Implement classroom rules and expectations to maintain order.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written forms.
  • Present information effectively and respond to questions from groups including staff and parents.
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adhere to district requirements, state and federal laws, and school policies.
  • Work equitably and inclusively with students from diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Plan, coordinate, conduct, and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.

Requirements

  • Mid-level classroom experience of at least 1 year.
  • Ability to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Strong planning and implementation skills for lessons based on curriculum.
  • Proficiency in utilizing instructional strategies for diverse learners.
  • Experience with instructional technology and its application in the classroom.
  • Ability to evaluate assessment data effectively.
  • Knowledge of contemporary professional literature and evidence-based research.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Awareness of district requirements and legal regulations.
