About the position

As a Kindergarten Teacher at Charter Schools USA, you will play a vital role in inspiring and motivating young learners. Your primary responsibility will be to create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. You will develop lesson plans that align with the company's educational philosophy and goals, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans which provide for effective teaching strategies and maximizes time on task.
  • Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunity and provides real-world, application-based examples.
  • Reviews student records to understand each student's abilities and needs.
  • Maintains accurate and complete student records.
  • Strives to maximize the educational achievement of each student.
  • Utilizes a variety of student learning modalities and differentiated instruction in lessons.
  • Conducts frequent diagnostic assessments of student learning.
  • Assesses student strengths and weaknesses and provides appropriate activities to address needs.
  • Coordinates class field trips as required.
  • Prepares students for state-required achievement assessments.
  • Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory.
  • Assists in the ongoing curriculum revision process.
  • Assists in the selection of instructional materials.
  • Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
  • Maintains positive rapport with students and ensures a clean, safe classroom.
  • Implements policies governing student conduct and develops reasonable classroom rules.
  • Participates in curriculum planning with other staff members.
  • Communicates clearly and positively with parents and guardians.
  • Participates in extracurricular activities to support a positive school culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience).
  • Command of grades/subject specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory.
  • Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
  • Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
