Under the direction of the school principal, the Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students. This role involves creating an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals, ensuring success for every student. The teacher will supervise students in various school-related settings, monitor and evaluate student outcomes, and communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community. The Kindergarten Teacher will develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students. Maintaining accurate records and following required procedures and practices is essential. The teacher will also monitor the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities. Essential functions include planning a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students, instructing assigned classes consistently, and creating a classroom environment that encourages student involvement in the learning process. The teacher will prepare for classes, establish clear objectives for lessons, and utilize instructional methods and resources that motivate students. Safety precautions must be taken to protect students and materials, and the teacher will assist in implementing school policies and rules governing student conduct. Additionally, the Kindergarten Teacher will establish relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and the community, reflecting respect for every individual. The role includes planning and supervising assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers, appraising personal effectiveness, and participating in school management and staff meetings. The teacher is expected to perform other duties as required, striving to maintain and improve professional competence.
