About the position
The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington is seeking applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in the Department of Kinesiology, focusing on Exercise Science and Physical Activity Behavior. This role aims to promote health through research, teaching, and community service, with a preference for candidates at the associate or full professor rank. The position is expected to start on August 1, 2025, with a focus on impactful research and mentoring of students in a diverse academic environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a robust research portfolio in public health science.
- Pursue and obtain major extramural research funding as a principal investigator.
- Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students as designated by the department chairperson.
- Provide service to the department, school, university, and the community.
- Engage in research areas such as behavioral science, community-based interventions, and health disparities.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Kinesiology, exercise science, or a closely related field.
- Record of research and scholarly achievement appropriate for rank.
- Experience leading sizeable research programs and securing external funding.
- Teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Research expertise in behavioral and/or implementation science.
- Experience with community-based interventions.
- Focus on middle-older adults and aging, children, and chronic disease prevention.
