About the position

The Ongoing Kinship Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing oversight and support to kinship foster homes and the children and youth placed within them. This position is part of a new program aimed at delivering kinship foster care support to youth who are placed with their relatives. The coordinator will be part of a dedicated team committed to making a significant difference in the lives of these families and children. The role involves ensuring that kinship homes, both licensed and unlicensed, comply with the necessary regulations and standards set forth by the Office of Licensing and Regulation (OLR). The coordinator is responsible for conducting monthly home visits to assess the well-being of the children and the suitability of the home environment. They will also participate in monthly provider meetings with the Department of Child Safety (DCS) and Intermountain Centers to discuss ongoing cases and share insights. Weekly staff meetings and supervision sessions with the Regional Kinship Supervisor are also part of the responsibilities, ensuring that the coordinator remains aligned with the program's goals and objectives. In addition to these duties, the coordinator may be required to work after hours to meet the needs of the program and ensure that families receive the support they require. Responsibilities

  • Oversee both licensed and unlicensed kinship homes.
  • Conduct monthly home visits to assess compliance and well-being.
  • Ensure families comply with OLR rules and regulations for their license.
  • Participate in monthly provider meetings with DCS and Intermountain.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and supervision with the Regional Kinship Supervisor.
  • Work after hours as needed to meet program requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to the position.

Requirements

  • Minimum education requirement: High School diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience working with child caregivers and/or in child welfare.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Responsible for providing ongoing oversight and support for kinship families with dependency placements.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Able to pass a 5-panel drug test and submit to regular screenings.
  • DPS Level I finger clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Current, valid Arizona Driver's License and proof of vehicle registration and liability insurance, if required.
  • Initial current negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).
