The Kiosk Registered Nurse position at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center involves providing nursing care within a correctional facility. The role requires the nurse to work under the supervision of Charge Nurses, guiding patient teaching and activities while ensuring compliance with nursing standards and state guidelines. This full-time position operates on a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, focusing on the delivery of patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Direct and guide patient teaching and activities under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s).
• Review nursing plans to ensure data collected, nursing diagnoses, and proposed nursing care plans are relevant and compliant with policies and procedures.
• Review medical records to ensure nursing practice is within state guidelines and that all recordings are in legible SOAP format.
• Ensure all referrals for consultation, treatment, or resolution of problems are valid and applicable to documented nursing plans.
• Monitor nursing service to ensure the provision of progressive patient care plans, employing a total team approach including patient teaching and self-care.
• Assist the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure that the technical and clinical skills of Registered Nurses (RNs) are current and that they function within their licensure scope.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Georgia or a valid compact state nurse license.
• Current BLS Certification.
