About the position

The Technology Operations Manager at KIPP NYC will support the Chief Information Officer and the Technology Team in delivering top-notch technology services. This role emphasizes operational excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation, requiring a detail-oriented individual who can enhance technology tools, systems, and processes to support the organization's growth and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Information Officer in leading the KIPP NYC Technology Team.
  • Identify and implement best practices in technology operations.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with key vendors, ensuring contract compliance.
  • Oversee the issuance of Purchase Orders, equipment receiving, invoice processing, and budget allocation.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of credit card purchases.
  • Support lifecycle and license management through financial modeling and forecasts.
  • Manage technology initiatives from ideation to procurement and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain an inventory of Educational Technology applications in collaboration with IT and Legal departments.
  • Stay updated on data privacy laws and regulations relevant to New York state and student data privacy.
  • Manage E-Rate applications and billing to maximize eligible funds.
  • Review and recommend modifications to KIPP NYC technology policies and procedures.
  • Support the Regional Leadership Team in integrating technology that supports instruction and curriculum.
  • Oversee an annual technology budget of $7M+, including revenue-related processes tied to federal funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of work experience in a tech-related field.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and interpersonal abilities to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data science.
  • Understanding of non-profit financial modeling and accounting practices.
