About the position

The Kitchen Associate Relief position at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission involves providing essential support in the kitchen and nutritional services department. This role is designed to assist patients with menu selections, ensure the delivery of food in accordance with dietary guidelines, and maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. The position is on a relief basis, meaning it is as needed, allowing for flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with menu selection and problem resolution, including follow-up with patients and families.
• Assemble and deliver trays according to therapeutic diet guidelines and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and organized tray line.
• Deliver food carts to patient care units and return them to the kitchen at designated times.
• Operate the dishwashing machine and wash specified items by hand, such as pots, pans, and knives.
• Dispose of trash and garbage appropriately and as needed.
• Mop floors as scheduled and necessary.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned, including walk-in refrigerators, walk-in freezers, and storage areas.
• Work in various positions on the tray line or retail areas, preparing and assembling hot/cold food items for patients and retail areas.

Requirements

• High School Education or equivalent.
• One year of technical experience.
