About the position

The Kitchen Associate plays a vital role in the fast-paced kitchen environment at FriendShip Stores, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high food quality standards. This position supports the deli manager in daily operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while providing a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Responsibilities

• Provide Wicked Awesome Customer Service (WACS) to customers by greeting them and assisting with food inquiries.
• Prepare and cook all food items according to menu specifications.
• Ensure all food items are properly labelled and stored to maintain freshness and quality.
• Train and mentor new team members on proper food handling and preparation techniques.
• Assist in receiving, placing, monitoring, and replenishing foodservice items as needed.
• Identify and communicate foodservice operational opportunities to Store Management staff.
• Ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Work with the Kitchen Manager to execute proper deli food preparation and storage procedures.
• Ensure high quality standards of food items from preparation to point of sale.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and cutlery.
• Complete shift paperwork and order guides as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Preferred 1 year of experience in food service restaurant or at the C-Store of QSR level.
• Achieving ServSafe level 1 Certification.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision under stressful conditions.
