Ajumma, a family-owned Korean restaurant in Cary, NC, is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join their culinary team. The role involves supporting kitchen staff in food preparation, meal planning, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate should have a passion for food and a commitment to cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, including food handling, chopping, and portioning.
• Support kitchen staff with meal planning and preparation for catering events and restaurant operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety guidelines.
• Handle food and supplies with care, ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
• Assist with kitchen equipment maintenance and cleaning.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
• Participate in food waste reduction and recycling initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in the food industry or a related field, preferably in a kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, including knives.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in sanitation practices.
