About the position

The Back of House (BOH) Manager at Snowshoe Mountain Resort is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing costs, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. This role involves leading a team of up to 30 kitchen staff, including Sous Chefs and Line Cooks, while fostering a collaborative and empowering work environment. The BOH Manager will also be involved in recruiting, training, and developing kitchen staff, as well as aligning financial performance with resort objectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain standards.
• Control costs and align financial performance with resort objectives.
• Keep team updated on menus, promotions, and events.
• Address maintenance, hygiene, and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain food control systems and menu relevance with the Executive Chef.
• Oversee kitchen operations, quality, and administrative functions.
• Recruit, hire, train, manage, and develop kitchen staff.
• Foster good communication and relationships across the Snowshoe Mountain.

Requirements

• Five+ years of experience in a related role managing a high volume quick turnaround kitchen.
• Intermediate food hygiene qualification.
• Proficient knife handling and culinary equipment operation.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
• Two+ years of post-high school education preferred, culinary education desirable.
• West Virginia Food Handlers Certificate required.
