About the position
The Kitchen Manager position at Goodwin Recruiting is an immediate opening for an experienced professional in the upscale casual or fine dining sector. The role requires a strong background in managing high-volume kitchens, specifically with experience in scratch cooking and a focus on steak and seafood. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring quality and efficiency, and leading a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement and uphold health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Develop and execute menus that align with the restaurant's concept and customer preferences.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within upscale casual or fine dining environments.
- Experience managing a high-volume kitchen with revenues exceeding $5 million.
- Strong financial acumen to manage budgets and food costs effectively.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with steak and seafood cuisine is a plus.
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques.
