About the position

The Kitchen Staff Substitute position at Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is a part-time role responsible for performing essential kitchen functions on an as-needed basis. The role involves food preparation, maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of serving lines and ensure food is held at required temperatures.
• Prepare foods according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes.
• Plan and prep for the next day's menus.
• Operate kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
• Keep inventory organized and practice FIFO procedures.
• Monitor and maintain equipment in the dishwashing area.
• Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
• Prepare baked goods as required by the menu plan.
• Present food to customers in an appealing manner.
• Batch cook to maintain quality and presentation of food.
• Serve food items with proper serving sizes and utensils.
• Maintain accurate daily production records and follow HACCP processes.
• Report unsafe working conditions to supervisors.
• Participate in required meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Up to one month of related experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
