About the position

The Kitchen Staff position at Opaa! Food Management, Inc. involves preparing breakfast and/or lunch offerings, assisting with serving lines, and participating in occasional catering functions. The role requires performing various tasks within the kitchen to ensure food quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at the required temperature.
  • Assist in the preparation of foods according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders with proper certification.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
  • Keep inventory organized and practice First In/First Out (FIFO) procedures.
  • Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
  • Prepare baked goods as required by the menu plan.
  • Batch cook to maintain quality and presentation of food.
  • Serve food items with proper serving sizes and utensils.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and procedures.
  • Handle customer transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and notify supervisors of shift changes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds frequently and over 60 pounds occasionally.
