About the position

The position involves performing washing, general cleaning, and storage functions within the Food and Nutrition Service department at Driscoll Children's Hospital. The role is essential for maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency in the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that all equipment and dishes are properly handled and sanitized.

Responsibilities

• Perform washing and cleaning of dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Start and operate the dish machine, ensuring proper functioning.
• Clean the dish machine as assigned, including de-liming for hard water.
• Follow proper procedures for washing dishes, including scraping and using correct cleaning solutions.
• Handle dishes, pots, and pans with care to prevent damage.
• Return all clean dishes to their designated locations after cleaning.
• Clean all floors and heavy equipment used in the department.
• Assist with storage and stocking of food and supplies as needed.
• Collect and dispose of trash in the department appropriately.
• Attend all required department and hospital in-services.
• Perform special cleaning and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
