About the position

The Kitchen Supervisor at The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park is responsible for overseeing food production and set-up areas within the kitchen to ensure high productivity and food quality. This role involves managing kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to sustainability standards while supporting the hotel's commitment to excellence in guest service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise set-up and food production areas to maximize productivity and ensure food quality.
  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support kitchen associates.
  • Inspect daily use records with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef to ensure estimates are completed correctly.
  • Pull all food needed for daily production from the walk-in box and utilize all leftovers.
  • Maintain and supervise good housekeeping practices in all areas of the kitchen.
  • Inspect all work stations and ensure proper set-up for meals.
  • Prepare daily production charts.
  • Attend associate meetings and offer suggestions to solve associate problems.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program.
  • Practice safe work habits and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Any combination of education, training, and/or experience demonstrating ability to perform required duties.
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
