About the position

The Manager of Knowledge Management at Dorsey & Whitney will oversee the strategic direction and daily operations of the firm's intranet, enhancing knowledge-sharing platforms and leading document automation initiatives. This role requires collaboration with various teams to improve productivity and ensure effective user adoption of knowledge management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management of the Firm's intranet, including prioritization of tasks, content updates, and strategies to maximize usage and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Director of KM & Innovation to evaluate, improve, and promote the use of the document management system (DMS).
  • Lead the implementation and adoption of the Firm's document templates and automation systems, managing related training and communication efforts.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training, resources, and tools for the Firm's intranet and other KM platforms.
  • Establish strong relationships with practice groups and their administrative teams to enhance productivity and collaboration.
  • Assist with evaluating and rolling out other KM and innovation technologies, ensuring seamless integration into the Firm's workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and resolve issues.
  • Strong leadership skills with diplomacy and the ability to effectively push back when necessary.
  • Understanding of law firm business drivers and how legal teams work.
  • Excellent skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with all levels of firm personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience managing intranets or other web-based communication tools, preferably in a large law firm.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, synthesize information, delegate, follow up and monitor projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitivity and discretion.
