About the position

The position involves planning and executing the migration of existing knowledge assets, documents, and data into a new knowledge management (KM) system. The successful candidate will ensure data integrity, accuracy, and maintain historical context throughout the migration process. This role requires a deep understanding of developing a detailed technical design and architecture for a Knowledge Management framework and system, which includes specifications for data storage, retrieval, security, user access, and integration with existing systems. The individual will engage with both internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that the KM system aligns with organizational goals. The candidate will be responsible for conducting a thorough analysis of the knowledge management requirements of OUSD(I&S). This includes engaging with key stakeholders to identify knowledge assets, user needs, and organizational goals. The role also involves recommending and justifying the selection of a suitable Knowledge Management platform or system that meets OUSD(I&S) requirements and supports future scalability. Once a platform is selected, the candidate will implement the KM framework and system based on the approved design, customizing and configuring the platform to meet specific organizational needs while ensuring seamless integration with existing IT infrastructure. Comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, system architecture diagrams, and operational procedures, will also be prepared. The candidate will provide ongoing maintenance and support services, including troubleshooting, system updates, and addressing user inquiries, and will establish a help desk or support system for timely issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree required.
  • 5 years of experience in knowledge management or related field required.
  • Ability to conduct a thorough analysis of knowledge management requirements.
  • Experience in developing a detailed technical design and architecture for Knowledge Management systems.
  • Knowledge of data storage, retrieval, security, user access, and system integration.
