About the position

The Knowledge Manager will support federal clients by developing and managing information architectures and knowledge management systems. This role focuses on ensuring the efficient management of knowledge repositories, compliance with federal regulations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance data security and information governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain information architectures that support the efficient management of knowledge repositories across multiple platforms.
• Design and implement processes and systems for managing, updating, and securing knowledge repositories, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, including DoD requirements.
• Lead content management strategies that support both internal and client-facing operations, enabling effective sharing and retrieval of critical data and insights.
• Ensure that knowledge management systems are continually updated, accessible, and tailored to the evolving needs of both commercial and federal customers.
• Work closely with Marine Corps stakeholders to understand their specific requirements and provide customized IM/KM solutions that align with their operational needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, compliance, and operational teams, to implement best practices in data security and information governance.
• Provide training and support to end-users to ensure the successful adoption of information management and knowledge sharing practices.
• Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in IM/KM and proactively recommend enhancements to existing systems and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Knowledge Management, Computer Science, or Business, or 8 years' experience as an Information/Knowledge Manager in lieu of a degree.
• 4+ years of experience in information management/knowledge management roles, with demonstrated success in designing and managing information architectures for large organizations.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) and enterprise search platforms, such as SharePoint, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, or AWS.
• Proficiency with information architecture design tools such as Lucidchart, Visio, or Miro.
• Knowledge of cloud-based data management solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with information security practices, including the use of encryption, access controls, and auditing tools.
• Expertise in developing and managing metadata standards and taxonomy structures to improve knowledge sharing.
• Effective communication capabilities, both written and verbal, adept at conveying complex knowledge management concepts to diverse audiences.
• Current and active TS/SCI clearance is required for this role.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and other FedRAMP approved cloud architectures.
• Experience managing document repositories using tools like M-Files, Alfresco, or OpenText.
• Proven experience building and documenting Information Architectures.
