About the position

INTECON, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Knowledge Manager to join the Delta 6 team at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This full-time position involves designing, implementing, and managing knowledge management systems and tools across various security levels, including Unclassified, Secret, and TS/SCI. The Knowledge Manager will play a crucial role in organizing and streamlining operational processes, maintaining a central repository of IT service support knowledge, and providing training to Government personnel on KM services and tools. The successful candidate must possess a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance level, ensuring they can operate effectively within the high-security environment of the Delta 6 operations. The Knowledge Manager will be responsible for developing and deploying KM systems and tools, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements and policies set by the Designated Approval Authority for each specific network. This role requires a keen ability to identify, map, and analyze operational processes within Delta 6 to optimize and streamline workflows, providing feedback and recommendations for process improvements that enhance organizational efficiency. Additionally, the Knowledge Manager will manage a central repository of IT services support knowledge, ensuring it is easily accessible by Delta 6 personnel and customers, serving as a comprehensive source of information to support operational tasks and decision-making. Training and development are also key components of this role, as the Knowledge Manager will provide on-the-job training for Government personnel on KM services, systems, and tools, ensuring that training aligns with the work center's master training plan. Furthermore, the Knowledge Manager will oversee the planning and coordination of the complete lifecycle of organizational data and information assets, ensuring the accurate collection, management, sharing, and control of information across Delta 6 operations. This position also involves identifying and analyzing data, information, and knowledge requirements to facilitate the discovery and dissemination of decision-quality information, supporting Delta 6 in meeting Space Operations Command (SpOC) objectives by ensuring that the right information is available to the right people at the right time.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement knowledge management (KM) systems and tools across various security levels, including Unclassified, Secret, and TS/SCI.
  • Identify, map, and analyze operational processes within Delta 6 to optimize and streamline workflows.
  • Manage a central repository of IT services support knowledge, ensuring accessibility for Delta 6 personnel and customers.
  • Provide on-the-job training for Government personnel on KM services, systems, and tools.
  • Oversee the planning and coordination of the complete lifecycle of organizational data and information assets.
  • Identify and analyze data, information, and knowledge requirements to facilitate the discovery and dissemination of decision-quality information.
  • Assist and educate users on authoritative data sources, data services, and presentation tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Library Science, Knowledge Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Intermediate certification as a Knowledge Manager (NIST: OM-KM-001) is required.
  • Additional certifications in knowledge management, such as Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM), are highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in knowledge management, information systems, or a related field, with a focus on implementing and managing KM systems.
  • Experience in a military or defense context is preferred, particularly within operations involving high-security environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in designing and managing databases and presentations.
  • Experience with Point for creating and maintaining knowledge repositories and collaboration sites.
  • Knowledge of knowledge management tools and methodologies for organizing, sharing, and leveraging organizational knowledge.
  • Familiarity with process improvement techniques and the ability to analyze and streamline operational workflows.
