About the position

The Knowledge Manager will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of internal business and technical documentation. This position involves researching, drafting, editing, and proofreading various types of documentation, including instructional knowledge articles, process documents, and content for the monthly newsletter. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible to both technical and non-technical personnel. This role requires a proactive approach, as the Knowledge Manager will need to take the initiative in gathering information and collaborating with different teams to produce high-quality documentation. In addition to writing and editing, the Knowledge Manager will be expected to review previous versions of documentation to ensure consistency and clarity. This may involve conducting research to verify facts and improve the overall quality of the content. The candidate will also need to communicate effectively with management and other stakeholders to understand their documentation needs and provide updates on the progress of various projects. The position is based in Upper Marlboro, MD, and requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field. A Bachelor's Degree in communication, journalism, writing, or a related discipline is required, along with a strong understanding of industry writing styles and the ability to present complex technical information in a way that is easily understood by a broader audience.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must hold a TS/SCI with a Polygraph.
  • Must meet contract level requirements for the appropriate position.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and interacting with personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to read and understand previous documentation versions.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in communication, journalism, writing, or related field.
  • Experience with industry writing styles, grammar, and structure.
  • Ability to present technical information clearly.
