About the position

The Knowledge Manager at Astrion will support the Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management Division (C3BM) by enhancing knowledge sharing and management processes. This role involves gathering and filtering information, converting personal knowledge into shared knowledge, and supporting program management activities to ensure successful execution of acquisition strategies and program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Finding, mapping, gathering, and filtering information.
  • Supporting development of new knowledge.
  • Conversion of personal knowledge into shared knowledge.
  • Shaping understanding and learning, including training manager functions.
  • Supporting cost and schedule reduction activities for acquisition and development efforts.
  • Providing program level acquisition support to the Program Manager and Integrated Product Team Leads.
  • Providing support and solutions to program leadership for successful contract execution.
  • Supporting and developing various briefings and schedules of program status to senior management.
  • Providing expert Program Management inputs to Request for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Reviewing acquisition documents and providing comments for consistency and accuracy.
  • Supporting, preparing, reviewing, and developing acquisition reports.
  • Supporting implementation and execution of acquisition and development effort processes.
  • Advising the PM on best practice PM principles for process improvements.
  • Assisting with planning, evaluating, and implementing program acquisition strategies.
  • Supporting and coordinating with program level scheduling personnel.
  • Developing, maintaining, and updating program risk management plans.
  • Assisting with development and maintenance of acquisition reports.
  • Providing direct support in preparing and submitting funding documents.
  • Assisting with preparation of briefings, graphics, and reports.
  • Interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating acquisition project assignments.
  • Reviewing and tracking prime contractor deliverables status and schedules.
  • Monitoring interface control between IT systems.
  • Assisting with drafting contractual letters on program management issues.
  • Assisting with development of source selection strategies and evaluation criteria.

Requirements

  • Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret/SCI level clearance.
  • High-school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of directly related experience, five of which must be in the DoD.
  • Familiar with cloud-based systems, including management and projection of cost and performance.
  • Familiar with agile methods and CI/CD, DevSecOps, and DevOps principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring effectiveness of acquisition programs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DoD acquisition reform policies and Air Force Instructions.
  • Familiarity with risk management processes and tools.
