About the position

The Knowledge Manager at Astrion plays a crucial role in supporting the Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management Division (C3BM) by managing and optimizing knowledge resources. This position involves transforming personal knowledge into shared knowledge, supporting program management, and ensuring effective execution of acquisition strategies to enhance the capabilities of the Department of the Air Force (DAF). The Knowledge Manager will work closely with program leadership to facilitate successful contract execution and provide expert inputs for various acquisition documents.

Responsibilities

  • Finding, mapping, gathering, and filtering information.
  • Supporting development of new knowledge.
  • Conversion of personal knowledge into shared knowledge.
  • Shaping understanding and learning, including training manager functions.
  • Supporting cost and schedule reduction activities for acquisition and development efforts.
  • Providing program level acquisition support to the Program Manager and Integrated Product Team Leads.
  • Supporting and developing various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior management.
  • Providing expert Program Management inputs to Request for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Reviewing acquisition documents and providing comments with programmatic perspective.
  • Supporting implementation and execution of acquisition and development effort processes.
  • Advising the PM on best practice PM principles to achieve substantial process improvements.
  • Assisting with planning, evaluating, and implementing program acquisition strategies.
  • Developing, maintaining, and updating program risk management plans.
  • Assisting with development, maintenance, and update of acquisition reports.
  • Providing direct support in preparing and submitting funding documents.
  • Assisting with preparation of briefings, graphics, and reports in support of acquisition program management functions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of directly related experience, five of which must be in the DoD.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret/SCI level clearance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management.
  • Familiar with cloud-based systems, including management and projection of cost and performance.
  • Familiar with agile methods and CI/CD, DevSecOps, and DevOps principles.
  • Possess knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring effectiveness of acquisition programs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SharePoint and Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Otolaryngology.
