About the position

The Knowledge Strategy, Management & Communications Lead will oversee the Gender and Economic Inclusion (GEI) Department's knowledge strategy, learning and development, and communications agenda at IFC. This role aims to enhance IFC's position as a global thought leader in gender and economic inclusion by implementing the 2030 Roadmap for Gender and Inclusion in alignment with the World Bank Group's Gender Strategy. The lead will manage a team, collaborate across various departments, and engage with stakeholders to create impactful knowledge and learning resources.

Responsibilities

  • Systematize the department's knowledge creation, capture, and management.
  • Design a multi-sector, multi-stakeholder GEI knowledge program.
  • Oversee sectoral and topic-specific knowledge creation in the economic inclusion and gender space.
  • Implement the multi-sector GEI knowledge program with detailed annual management plans.
  • Connect and liaise with WB and MIGA on GEI knowledge.
  • Draft knowledge materials and company case studies highlighting innovative approaches to closing gender gaps.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and organizations in the GEI space.
  • Create opportunities for senior management to showcase their expertise globally.
  • Manage the selection and performance of consultants.
  • Revive IFC's Internal Gender Network.
  • Develop tailored knowledge bases based on IFC's experience.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics, finance, business, or other relevant discipline required.
  • At least eight years of professional experience with knowledge management in a decision-making role, ideally in the private sector.
  • Demonstrated track record in private sector knowledge strategy, management, and implementation.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize and implement multi-sector partnerships and client engagements.
  • Experience in managing staff/consultants and monitoring project issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business judgment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently to various stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of the international development agenda and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to core values including teamwork, diversity, and integrity.
  • Ability to self-manage, multitask, and work under time constraints.
  • Familiarity with information management policies and knowledge applications preferred.
  • Work experience in an emerging market environment preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with gender-smart solutions in emerging markets.
  • Technical operational gender experience would be a plus.
