About the position

The Knowledge Warehouse Data Manager is responsible for managing data and knowledge services within the Engineering Research Center (ERC) EARTH. This role involves collaborating with academic partners and member firms to facilitate research activities, commercialization, and knowledge dissemination. The position requires a proactive individual who can enhance the information-sharing ecosystem and mentor faculty and students in academia.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage the EARTH Knowledge Warehouse repository.
  • Serve as a central resource and concierge within EARTH, managing information sharing databases and systems.
  • Collaborate with academic partner tech transfer offices, libraries, and EARTH researchers to curate and archive publications, data, tools, and related information.
  • Develop strategies and tools to gather and disseminate HVACR research data and market information.
  • Provide education and training for ERC Earth faculty, students, and corporate representatives on the use of the Knowledge Warehouse.
  • Monitor usage and implement system improvements based on user feedback.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in knowledge management, library/information science, informatics, computer science, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with knowledge management and managing digital resources.
  • Advanced knowledge in research data management and related standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in knowledge management, library/information science, informatics, computer science, or related fields.
  • Experience with cataloging utilities and data repositories.
  • Experience with front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Knowledge of metadata standards and common data elements.
  • Experience analyzing or manipulating data with programming languages.
