About the position

The Koeppel Center Operations Specialist/Driver is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the Koeppel Community Sports Center, ensuring it is ready for public use. This role involves setting up and taking down equipment for various events, providing customer service, and performing maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform ice resurfacing and monitor refrigeration system readings.
• Maintain the arena ice schedule and respond to injuries or incidents.
• Ensure proper equipment is worn by participants on the ice.
• Carry out maintenance orders/projects assigned by arena management.
• Set up chairs, bleachers, stages, and other equipment for events.
• Maintain cleanliness of buildings and grounds, including trash removal and operating cleaning equipment.
• Inspect team rooms after use and report any damage or breakage.
• Secure the building at closing time and keep accurate records of incidents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid State of Connecticut driver's license.
• Two years of general maintenance or training experience.
• Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior ice maintenance experience.
• Skating background.
