About the position

The Porter position at Prestige Maintenance USA involves performing custodial tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in various facilities. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines and company policies while executing cleaning duties such as vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing restrooms. The Porter will work under the direction of a Lead Custodian or Crew Lead Supervisor and may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning tasks including restroom, office, cafeteria, and sales floor cleaning.
• Use floor machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning safely.
• Follow safety guidelines and company policies while performing assigned tasks.
• Empty wastebaskets and replace liners as needed.
• Dust and clean tops of office furniture, desks, and tables.
• Vacuum all carpeting and spot clean soiled areas when needed.
• Clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals.
• Clean counters, mirrors, and fixtures.
• Sweep and damp mop floors with disinfectant.
• Refill restroom dispensers as needed.
• Wipe and clean all table tops and chairs.
• Wipe and clean vending machines and appliances.
• Clean sinks and damp mop tile floors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning services.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to maintain cleaning closets in an orderly manner.
• Experience with small power tools.
