About the position

The Korean Victim Services Coordinator is a part-time role focused on providing support and resources to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The position involves crisis intervention, advocacy, and outreach within the Korean immigrant community, ensuring that victims receive the necessary assistance and information to navigate their circumstances effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, resources, materials, and referrals to survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
• Offer accompaniment and companion services to clients.
• Conduct crisis intervention and safety planning for victims.
• Manage hotline services and provide individual counseling and support groups.
• Identify safe housing options and assist with transitional housing as needed.
• Support clients through the criminal or civil justice system as an advocate.
• Recruit and manage program volunteers for outreach activities.
• Create educational and promotional materials for community awareness.
• Conduct educational workshops for community members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, or a related human service field.
• 1+ years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault and their families is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean, both verbal and written.
• Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle for travel to outreach events.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in public speaking and group facilitation is a plus.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse team settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet usage.
