About the position

The Multimedia Journalist at Griffin Media is responsible for storytelling and reporting in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong on-camera presence and the ability to shoot, write, and edit stories independently under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate embodies the qualities of being humble, hungry, and smart, contributing to the team's success while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing news events.

Responsibilities

• Develop sources and pitch daily enterprise stories that resonate with people in the Tulsa metro area.
• Shoot, write, and edit broadcast stories independently, occasionally collaborating with a photojournalist.
• Report live in the field with a photojournalist.
• Create content for digital and social media platforms.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing news events, deadlines, and priorities.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• Two years of experience in a television newsroom as an on-air Multimedia Journalist preferred.
• Knowledge of journalistic standards and ability to perform appropriately on camera.
• Accurate and comprehensive writing, shooting, and editing skills.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce accurate, clear, and compelling news content.
• Proficiency in multimedia production techniques, including videography and video editing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in digital and social media content creation.
• Familiarity with news production for multiple platforms.
