About the position

The KP Mentor position at Kinetic Potential is designed to provide onsite support for individuals with disabilities and youth participating in the K12 and Community Supports Program. The role focuses on developing positive mentoring relationships, ensuring participant attendance and performance, and supporting the administration of various programs aimed at workforce development and community support. KP Mentors will engage with participants, parents, and officials to foster a motivating environment that encourages individuals to achieve their career goals.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of services for the mentorship of 5-10 K12 students or individuals with disabilities.
• Provide program administration including scheduling sessions, supporting transportation, and capturing participant attendance.
• Engage with parents and officials on the progress of participants and action plans to improve performance.
• Identify additional activities and resources for participants that build skills for high earning potential careers.
• Guide students in active collaboration and application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.

Requirements

• Passionate about community development and workforce issues for individuals facing barriers.
• Ability to mentor and inspire youth to achieve their goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Current college student, educator, or community member comfortable with technology and distance learning services.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in community service, social work, nursing, medical administration, or personal care assistance.
• Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, PMT, CAPM, PMP, Customized Employment, Medication Administration, PCA, or CNA.
