About the position
The KP Mentor position at Kinetic Potential (KP) is designed to provide onsite support for individuals with disabilities and youth participating in KP's K12 and Community Supports Program. This role focuses on developing positive mentoring relationships and fostering a team-based environment to motivate participants towards achieving their career goals. KP Mentors will engage in various administrative and supportive tasks to ensure the successful implementation of KP's programs, contributing to the organization's mission of community development and workforce training.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of services for the mentorship of 5-10 K12 students or individuals with disabilities.
- Manage and support a team of 5-10 individuals throughout the program duration.
- Provide program administration including scheduling sessions and maintaining student records.
- Engage with parents and officials regarding participant progress and action plans.
- Identify additional activities and resources for participants to build skills for high earning potential.
Requirements
- Passionate about community development and workforce issues for individuals facing barriers.
- Ability to mentor and inspire youth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Current college student, educator, or community member comfortable with technology.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in community service, social work, nursing, or personal care assistance.
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, PMT, CAPM, PMP, Customized Employment, PCA, or CNA.
