About the position

Kforce is seeking an experienced Kubernetes Engineer/Architect to support our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client in Englewood, CO. This role involves producing architecture blueprints for Cloud solutions, guiding technical teams, and ensuring implementations align with technology and product roadmaps. The Cloud Solutions Architect will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and maintain architecture standards, create solutions, and present recommendations to customers. Additionally, the role includes defining operational procedures, setting KPIs, and improving internal processes while mentoring the internal team.

Responsibilities

  • Produce architecture blueprints for Cloud solutions across multiple products.
  • Provide direction to technical teams during project delivery.
  • Ensure implementations support technology and product roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain architecture standards and solutions that align with strategic goals.
  • Partner with product managers, business analysts, designers, and software engineers to navigate solution decisions.
  • Create solutions and present compelling recommendations to customers.
  • Define operational procedures and practices.
  • Define KPIs and set up health-checks, monitoring, and escalation procedures.
  • Accelerate development for roadmap features to address specific customer requirements.
  • Identify ongoing risks and pain points throughout the project and implement mitigation measures.
  • Improve internal processes and promote knowledge sharing in the team.
  • Capture project lessons and convert them into architectural best practices.
  • Mentor and coach the internal team through training sessions.
  • Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to review customer requirements and feedback.
  • Update and design new processes as needed.
  • Test system integrity, implemented designs, application developments, and other processes related to infrastructure.
  • Offer technical support and develop software for back-end systems.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Python.
  • Strong experience with Ansible.
  • Strong experience with Linux based infrastructure and Linux administration.
  • Strong experience with version control and workflow tooling such as GIT (GitLab, GitHub).
  • Strong experience with CI/CD and code review process.
  • Strong experience with Terraform.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience with CI technologies such as Jenkins, GitLab CI.
  • Experience with image repositories such as Artifactory.
  • Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Agile, Jira, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes and platform distributions such as Rancher, OpenShift, PKS.
  • Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
