About the position

The KUMC School of Nursing is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join their dynamic research team. This role focuses on engaging community members in research efforts and requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends to accommodate community partners. The Research Assistant will coordinate study activities, assist with participant recruitment, and support data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with community and health organization partners to ensure organizations are on schedule with implementing study activities.
  • Coordinating trainings with community partners.
  • Preparing study related materials/supplies and ensuring technical assistance is provided for study sites.
  • Working collaboratively with other study team members to ensure study implementation deliverables are being met.
  • Assisting in facilitating study recruitment, including screening, enrolling and scheduling study participants, and data collection.
  • Maintaining ongoing contact with participants at designated intervals to ensure study goals are met.
  • Assisting with data entry, data cleaning, and focus group facilitation, transcriptions, and coding.
  • Attending team meetings, troubleshooting and working with study team members to resolve issues in the field.
  • Assisting in maintaining study materials and contributing to study manuscripts and conference presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) required, applicable experience may be substituted in place of education requirement.
  • Experience working with REDcap is preferred.
  • Experience conducting projects in a variety of communities and working with faith and community-based populations is preferred.
  • Detailed-oriented with competency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
