About the position

We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and results-oriented Learning Design Specialist to join our team at Boston Scientific. In this pivotal role, you will shape the learning experiences of our urology sales organization. Collaborating closely with Sales Training Managers (STMs), product marketing, and other cross-functional partners, you will develop engaging and effective learning solutions tailored to the needs of field-based learners and the business. Your contributions will be essential in ensuring that our training programs are not only informative but also impactful, helping our sales teams excel in their roles. As part of the Learning and Design team, you will work with STMs to develop and implement training workshops for National Sales Meetings and other necessary gatherings as determined by the commercial teams. This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization and demonstrates agility and adaptability in their work. You will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality learning materials with clear performance-based objectives, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, videos, simulations, and other multimedia assets. Your responsibilities will also include conducting needs assessments in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to identify learning objectives, audience characteristics, and performance gaps. You will create comprehensive learning curricula that align with organizational goals and ensure that learning experiences are logically sequenced and appropriately scaffolded. Additionally, you will design engaging and interactive learning experiences that leverage various instructional strategies and technologies, incorporating principles of adult learning theory and cognitive psychology to maximize learning outcomes. In this role, you will utilize Articulate360 to develop digital content for our LMS/LXP and collaborate with the Learning Technologist to leverage digital capabilities for dynamic and interactive learning experiences. Quality assurance will be a key aspect of your work, as you will conduct thorough reviews and checks to ensure the accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness of learning materials, implementing feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the learning experience. You will also manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and within budget, while developing evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions and making recommendations for future iterations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality learning materials with clear performance-based objectives, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, videos, simulations, and other multimedia assets.
  • Conduct needs assessments in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to identify learning objectives, audience characteristics, and performance gaps.
  • Create comprehensive learning curricula that align with organizational goals and objectives, ensuring logical sequencing and appropriate scaffolding of learning experiences.
  • Design engaging and interactive learning experiences that leverage a variety of instructional strategies and technologies, incorporating principles of adult learning theory and cognitive psychology.
  • Use Articulate360 to develop digital content for our LMS/LXP and collaborate with the Learning Technologist to deliver dynamic and interactive learning experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with STMs, Product Marketing, and other stakeholders on various strategic projects, new product launches, and product training campaigns.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness of learning materials, implementing feedback from stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and within budget, while communicating effectively with project teams to coordinate timelines, resources, and priorities.
  • Develop evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions, analyzing data and feedback to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • BA in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years instructional design, curriculum development, and technical writing experience.
  • Proficiency with Articulate Storyline (or similar e-learning authoring tools) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and learning theories.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in learning design.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new terminology (i.e., medical terminology, sales terminology).
